Creation of the committee:

The Quality, Accreditation and Scientific Research Management Committee was established at Ebla University by Resolution No. 118 dated 10/8/2017 issued by University Board.

Committee members:

1. Dr. Sabri Hassan as Chairman.

2. Dr. Ahmed Haj Darwish as a member.

3. Dr. Abdul Qadir Jokhdar, member.

4. Dr. Mazen Samman, member.

5. Dr. Yahya Farid, member.

6. Dr. Samer Khanji, member.

Vision:

The vision of the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation lies in making the university a prominent institution by promoting and improving the culture of quality assurance and Accreditation in the university.

Message:

The mission of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Directorate lies in supporting and guiding the university to achieve its strategic vision through continuous evaluation, monitoring and implementing of regional and international quality and accreditation requirements at the university.

About the Directorate:

The Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation was established during the academic year 2013-2014. The main objective of the Directorate is to promote and manage the guidelines of regional and international regulatory bodies across the functions of the university. The Directorate strives to provide high quality academic and operational services through a commitment to achieving a high level of satisfaction of stakeholders.

The Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation continuously monitors, evaluates and implements the internal quality management system by following systematic procedures and providing the best support to it in achieving the university's strategic vision of being a prestigious university for the quality of its academic and research programs, community participation and contribution to economic development.

Objectives of Directorate: The Directorate aims to:

1. Assist and support the university in achieving its strategic vision, mission, and objectives through quality and accreditation initiatives, and developing its academic and administrative fields.

2.Establish best practices in order to build internal capabilities, to promote a “culture of quality” and to improve performance within the university.

3.Implement quality frameworks and standards that are benchmarked with local, regional and international best practices and principles.

4.Build systems for review, measurement and evaluation to improve quality standards in all academic fields, scientific research, community service, departments and services within the university.

5. Oversee all quality assurance and enhancement processes that govern the academic field at the university.

6.Coordinate with relevant external and regulatory bodies to ensure that the University conforms to the best practices used in quality assurance and promotion.

7. Lead, monitor, formulate, review and implement strategies, policies and procedures geared towards quality assurance and promotion.

8.Formulating quality standards for conducting internal reviews and audits for each of the faculties and departments at the university.

9. Facilitate the formulation, delivery and application of quality indicators for the various academic and administrative tasks and activities at the university.

10. Promote and develop the basic tasks related to quality in accordance with the strategic plan of the university.

11. Ensure that quality assurance and improvement procedures at the college and university levels are reviewed and updated periodically to reflect any changes related to internal and organizational requirements.

12.Provide advice and academic support to colleges in the areas of teaching and learning, evaluation, program and course review, development, management and monitoring.

13. Lead and advise department heads in colleges and departments with regard to reviewing college programs and self-evaluation reports, and supervising institutional and program accreditation processes carried out by regulatory and external bodies.

14.Prepare and organize academic and administrative activities related to quality within the university.

15. Lead and monitor the internal audit and review of faculties and departments in order to promote excellence in teaching, learning, research, community service and service support at the university.

16.Take into account the views of students and stakeholders on issues related to quality and necessities at the University.

17. Develop and maintain a database of quality-related documents and records.

18. Communicate the policies, procedures and standards related to quality and ensure their availability to the concerned parties.

19. Communicate the results of accreditation, external quality review decisions, and directives to the relevant departments at the university.
